Identify the terminal before choosing a route
Save the terminal shown on your flight booking. International arrivals do not emerge above the subway platform: reaching it requires a separate terminal transfer. Domestic arrivals can follow the airport-line connection.
Landing time excludes immigration, baggage collection and finding transport. Plan your first appointment from a realistic hotel arrival, not a short advertised train ride. Confirm whether the hotel accepts luggage before check-in; this matters more than saving a few minutes onboard.
Compare the actual hotel approach
A direct city bus avoids changing terminals, but its stop and road conditions still matter. For shuttle plus subway, include the station exit and final walk when comparing routes.
The table is a decision aid, not a cheapest-or-fastest promise. A group with luggage should compare the total bill and stair changes. A bus labelled Tenjin does not necessarily stop beside your hotel; confirm the stop before boarding.

Check the shuttle stop and lift route separately
The airport currently flags the domestic north shuttle stop as suspended. Follow the current south-stop instructions and on-site signs rather than an older map or timetable still visible online. The free terminal shuttle is not a free city bus.
The closest stair entrance may be the wrong choice with a stroller or large case. Locate the terminal lift route to the subway. When sharing a meeting point, send the terminal and direction as well as the stop number.
Work backward from the international departure hall
Reaching the subway airport station does not mean reaching international departures. Add the shuttle back to the international terminal and the walk upstairs. Your airline sets check-in deadlines; the airport’s proximity does not shorten them.
Check the first or last service for the actual travel date. For an early departure or late arrival, price a fallback if your intended transport is missed. A bus timetable and an airline counter deadline describe different limits.
Save four things before travel
Keep the hotel’s Japanese address, arrival terminal, boarding location and final walking route together. Save the booking and map for offline access so the transfer does not depend on a working data connection.
