Compare a finished journey, not an origin label
Flying to Samui and riding to an island pier is a different chain from reaching a mainland airport or station, taking a vehicle and then changing to a boat. A cheap flight can acquire extra transfer, waiting or overnight costs. Chumphon pier, airport and railway station are separate starting points in the route directory, as are Surat Thani Airport and Donsak. Do not compare a boat-only ticket with an airport-pickup product as if they buy the same journey. Subtract the check-in requirement first
The inspected Lomprayah requirement to arrive at least 60 minutes early is an operator condition, separate from a personal suggestion to allow extra time. If the voucher asks for an earlier arrival, clarify it rather than choosing the shorter rule. After a flight lands, disembarkation, baggage and the ride still remain. With 90 minutes until sailing and a 60-minute reporting requirement, only 30 minutes remain for those tasks. This is a warning about arithmetic, not proof that a connection at a particular airport is achievable. A delayed flight does not automatically protect losses on another ticket.
Put baggage and changes beside the fare
The inspected Lomprayah terms list 20 kg for large luggage and a 200-baht excess charge; water-sports equipment has a separate category. Before booking, establish how your bags are classified and how the allowance applies across the bus and boat chain. Keep valuables and essential medicines under your own control. If age-discount descriptions overlap at a boundary, confirm eligibility instead of entering a child fare by assumption. A ticket that can be changed is not necessarily refundable. With a reseller, the request channel may differ, so save both the change deadline and the party who will handle it.
Finish with the hotel and the flight home
Arriving at Mae Haad pier is not the same as reaching the hotel door. With large bags, request the pickup price, meeting place and late-arrival contact beforehand. Check what happens to any paid activity scheduled immediately after arrival if the boat runs late. Rather than making a tight same-day chain to an important flight, compare leaving the previous day for the mainland or the island with your departure airport. This cannot remove every delay, but it reduces dependence on one sailing for the whole trip home. When weather changes operations, use the operator’s notice and direct booking communication as the priority.
