Give each day a different job
Build the city day around castle opening hours, with food and a walk afterward. Give the second day to one substantial destination: Kinjofuto’s railway museum and Nagakute’s Ghibli Park lie in different directions.
This is an editorial plan for two usable sightseeing days. For flight days, add airport travel and luggage handling before choosing stops. Save the next day’s ticket and route the evening before, especially for a timed booking.
Plan for the open castle areas, not a climb up the keep
The official site says the keep cannot be entered. Plan around the exterior, grounds and accessible palace areas. Normal opening is 9:00–16:30, last castle entry 16:00; reach the palace’s own entrance by 16:00 too.
Standard individual adult admission is ¥500 through September 2026, with ¥1,000 announced from 1 October. The table is the date-based new-purchase baseline; concessions and previously bought tickets have separate terms. Do not preserve only the old English price.

Keep the city afternoon selective
After the castle, choose Sakae for the city-centre setting and shopping, or Osu for a street-level wander. Visiting both is optional. Put lunch and a rest into the plan before adding another district.
For rain, choose an indoor alternative without assuming every shop shares the same opening hours. Check food queues and last orders separately. If tomorrow starts with a substantial journey, retain time tonight to confirm transport and rest.
Day two A: make the railway museum the main event
Reach SCMAGLEV and Railway Park via the Aonami Line to Kinjofuto. From the airport, include the transfer from Meitetsu at Nagoya. Decide whether your group prioritises rolling-stock displays or simulator activities.
Checked regular hours are 10:00–17:30, last entry 30 minutes earlier. Tuesday is normally closed, shifting to the next day when it is a national holiday. Adult entry is ¥1,200; simulator tickets are separate and first-come, not guaranteed by museum admission.
Day two B: secure Ghibli Park admission first
Ghibli Park is in Nagakute’s Expo 2005 Aichi Commemorative Park, reached by Linimo at Ai-Chikyuhaku Kinen Koen. Do not treat it as a small downtown exhibition. Build the day around your ticket areas and timed entry.
Check the desired date before making inflexible accommodation commitments. More included areas do not remove walks or queues. If tickets are unavailable, use the museum or city plan after checking its calendar, rather than forcing both outlying destinations into one day.
