The ¥450 is not the whole fare
A μticket buys the reserved first-class accommodation; travel between stations still requires the base fare. Check whether the screen sells only the supplement or a product including both.
Paying the base fare with a transport IC card does not reserve a first-class seat. Equally, do not buy it twice if your selected package already includes it. Match the departure time, carriage and seat to the train you actually board.
Choose the service and the carriage
μSKY and other limited-express services do not all have the same carriage arrangement. On a train mixing first-class and ordinary cars, identify the car you intend to use. Without the supplement, verify that your chosen service offers an ordinary-car option.
A reserved seat may matter more after a tiring flight than on another day. Compare the extra cost with the actual wait and final destination rather than automatically choosing the most prominent train name.
| Car used | Payment | Check |
|---|---|---|
| μSKY first class | Base fare + μticket | Reserved train and seat |
| First class on applicable limited express | Base fare + μticket | Correct carriage |
| Ordinary car where available | Base fare | Whether that service has ordinary cars |
Add the Terminal 2 approach before the train
The station is reached through Access Plaza. From Terminal 2, use the airport’s walking or free-shuttle directions toward the connected transport facilities; do not assume the train is immediately outside arrivals.
An airport-to-Nagoya train time excludes immigration, bags and the terminal approach. Avoid a reservation too close to landing. On departure day, leave time to reach the terminal named on your flight booking, following the airline’s check-in deadline.
Meitetsu Nagoya is not the end of every journey
JR, subway and Meitetsu platforms are not the same place. Allow time to navigate signs and change systems before a Shinkansen or subway connection. A train leaving immediately after your airport service arrives is a poor assumption with luggage.
A hotel near Nagoya station and one in Sakae require different final legs. Save the Japanese address and entrance. For a meeting point, specify the operator and exit, not simply “outside Nagoya station”.
Count the fare and supplement once each
List base fare, μticket and onward city travel separately. Two adult one-way supplements at the checked airport rate are 2 × 450 = ¥900. That excludes both base fares and is not a two-person airport-transfer total.
The reservation terms exclude airport-station journeys from the off-peak first-class discount. Do not budget from a headline discount without checking its scope. Read change, cancellation and missed-train conditions, then check live operations before travelling.
