Choose a day for looking at art
MOCA Bangkok is a visit to place Thai contemporary art at the centre of your day. If the goal is only a souvenir photograph, the travel and viewing time may not fit your priorities. General admission suits companions who want to pause before paintings or sculptures and discuss what catches their attention. This is a way to judge the visit, not a promise about your experience or a claim that every display remains unchanged.
Save both MOCA BANGKOK and 499 Kamphaeng Phet 6 Road in your map. General admission and seeing a particular special exhibition are different decisions. If an artist or exhibition is your reason for coming, check its actual dates, gallery and additional admission first. An old exhibition poster online does not establish what is on view today.
Confirm the price before budgeting
On 10 October 2026, the official admission page listed adults at THB 400 and students with ID at THB 120, while the official FAQ still listed adults at THB 300. We could not establish the effective change date or final counter charge, so neither is presented as a verified current payable price. The table uses the admission page’s THB 400 as a provisional planning basis; confirm the actual checkout or counter amount.
The admission page lists free entry for children under 13, seniors aged 60 or over with ID, visitors with disabilities and priests. Check evidence and eligibility for your purchase route. General admission excludes special exhibitions and the auditorium. Transport, meals, café spending and shopping are outside these examples; do not apply an assumed discount or conversion and call it the final trip total.
| Planning example | Provisional admission budget | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| One adult | THB 400 | Admission page; FAQ lists THB 300 |
| Two adults | THB 800 | 400 × 2; not a final quotation |
| Two adults and one student | THB 920 | 400 × 2 + 120; accepted student ID |
| A child aged 13 | Confirm before calculating | Operator and Klook age wording differs |
Separate the booking routes
The official admission page’s TICKETS button links to a museum-selected booking website. We could not read that site’s actual payment, refund and redemption conditions in this check, so do not assume free cancellation or entry without a counter step. Whether using that route or buying on site, establish your date’s charge, special-exhibition coverage and ticket collection method.
The linked Gollaba product contains Klook 180886’s Admission Ticket option, which excludes special exhibitions and prohibits re-entry. Its inspected description says the voucher is valid until the selected date and offers a full refund when cancelled at least 24 hours before the activity date in destination local time. This is not unlimited open-date validity. Change exceptions include passes, pre-sales, freebies and voucher-issue status; keep the order-specific conditions and actual voucher. The redemption medium was not established, so this guide does not promise that displaying a QR code is sufficient.
| Purchase route | Established scope | Check before paying |
|---|---|---|
| Official TICKETS link | Museum links a booking website | Payable amount, refund and collection |
| Linked Klook admission | General entry; special exhibitions excluded | Selected date, age, voucher and cancellation |
| A particular special exhibition | Not automatically all included | Dates, separate charge and gallery |
Plan opening time and the final approach
Official visitor hours are Tuesday–Sunday, 10:00–18:00, with Monday closure. Klook lists last entry at 17:00; this is a seller statement, not a separately verified operator cut-off. For that ticket, plan arrival before 17:00 and check your voucher and dated notices. The museum office’s 09:30 opening is not the opening time for visitors.
The museum identifies SRT Red Line Bang Khen Station, Exit 2. Its admission page gives a walk of approximately 400 metres, while the FAQ says approximately 200 metres. We do not resolve that difference into a precise walking distance or time. Check the station, exit and actual pedestrian route, allowing for heat, rain and crossings. Date-specific trains and fares were not verified, so no invented minute-by-minute or fare itinerary is offered.
| Approach | Published guidance | Plan as well |
|---|---|---|
| Red Line Bang Khen | Exit 2; walking estimates differ | Actual walking route and return train |
| BTS Kasetsart University | Exit 1, then another connection | Connecting ride and total cost |
| By vehicle | 499 Kamphaeng Phet 6 address | Return pickup and traffic allowance |
Set a viewing question, not a work count
Before starting, choose something you want to notice: depictions of people, religious symbolism, colour or materials. That gives you a basis for deciding which labels to read and which works deserve longer. Read the title, artist and date, then compare two contrasting works rather than merely counting rooms completed. This is Gollaba’s viewing suggestion, not an official guided route.
If a special exhibition is the reason for visiting, recheck ticket coverage and ask staff where to start. A plan to leave for coffee and return to the galleries may conflict with the linked Klook ticket’s no-re-entry condition. Ask where the exit boundary and internal resting spaces are, and arrange the return while there is still viewing time. We do not promise a fixed visit duration or uncrowded galleries.
Check children and access separately
The operator’s admission page says children under 13 enter free; Klook says ages 0–13. The boundary differs at age 13, so confirm eligibility and evidence with the seller and museum instead of declaring that age free. Student admission requires valid ID, but acceptance of every overseas student card has not been established. Children and minors must remain closely supervised by a guardian.
Official facilities include wheelchair-accessible doors, lifts and toilets. Visitor policy permits strollers in most areas but not on escalators. Tell staff on arrival if assistance is needed. These museum facilities do not establish a step-free route from your hotel through the station and street. If walking is difficult, check the final approach and vehicle drop-off as well, choosing transport that leaves you able to enjoy the galleries.
Prepare bags and photography
Official rules require bags larger than A4 to be stored near the ticket counter. Take out your passport, booking information and essential items first, and keep food and drinks out of exhibition areas. For notes or sketches, bring a pencil and an A4-or-smaller notebook and follow staff instructions. Storing luggage does not justify shortening the time you need to reach an airport later.
The photography policy describes personal still photographs and short videos in public areas without prohibition signs, while the FAQ says video is prohibited in most galleries. Ask staff before filming and obey the signs. Flash, tripods, selfie sticks and commercial photography have separate restrictions or approval requirements. Permission to take a personal photograph is not a commercial website reuse licence; no artwork photographs have been copied into this guide.
Finish the plan with your return
Build the visit total from confirmed admission, return transport and your chosen food, breaks and special exhibition. The seller’s displayed starting price or Gollaba’s older checked price is not the final selected-date total after currency or promotions. If the date is unsettled, decide the usable date and cancellation or change window before buying.
Leave time to collect stored belongings and reach the actual exit and pickup point. When combining the museum with another reservation or an airport journey, check that service’s deadline rather than planning only around the museum’s 18:00 closing. If the desired exhibition is unavailable or your day is Monday, move MOCA to another date instead of relying on unconfirmed opening.
- Check Monday closure and visit-date notices.
- Resolve THB 400 on admission versus THB 300 in the FAQ with the final purchase amount.
- Check special-exhibition coverage and actual dates.
- Confirm age 13, student and free-entry evidence.
- Save selected-date, cancellation, change and redemption conditions.
- Check the walking route after the station exit and needed assistance.
- Prepare for bag, photography and no-re-entry rules.
- Allow for bag collection, return transport and additional spending.
