Gangchon Gimyujeong Rail Bike: Bike Prices, Booking and the Return Route

GollabaSource checked: Editorial review:
The short answer

Gimyujeong costs KRW 40,000 for one two-seater or KRW 56,000 for one four-seater, not per person. Pay in advance and arrive 20 minutes before departure. The one-way 6km ride continues with a 2.5km Romance Train and a shuttle back to the start, not Seoul. For a tour, select a rail-bike-included option, confirm the actual course and distinguish a shared four-seater from a private bike.

Some source checks are due for review. Confirm current details with the official provider before travelling.

Choose Gimyujeong, not just “Gangchon”

This guide covers Gangchon Rail Park’s Gimyujeong departure. Its Gyeonggang and Gapyeong courses, and bicycle activities on Nami Island, have different starts and arrangements. Save the actual boarding location. A product with Gangchon in its name is not enough evidence that it uses this course.

The address is 1383 Gimyujeong-ro, Sindong-myeon, Chuncheon. The operator describes a roughly three-minute walk from Gimyujeong Station on the Gyeongchun Line. For ITX travel, check the advised transfer through Namchuncheon and your actual services. Do not assume an ITX stops directly at Gimyujeong or count station arrival as being ready to board.

Budget by bike, not by person

The table uses basic prices checked on 10 October 2026. These are bike costs only: Seoul transport, food and other attraction admission are separate. Three people use a four-seater even with an empty seat. Check concession eligibility and proof separately rather than subtracting an unconfirmed discount.

For five or more, enough seats is not the whole decision. The rates page suggests a two-seater plus a four-seater for five, while reservation guidance says the two types cannot depart mixed. Ask the operator about allocation and departure grouping before paying if staying together matters. This table promises neither available bikes nor one shared departure.

Payment, booking proof and ticket collection

The operator confirms a reservation after payment and does not offer same-day online bookings. Remaining on-site tickets may be sold first come, first served; do not travel far assuming your preferred departure will be available. Changes require cancellation and a new booking, so check the new departure and financial consequences before cancelling.

For a direct booking, prepare the operator’s RS reservation number, confirmation message and identity evidence, and reach the boarding point 20 minutes early. A reseller voucher number is not necessarily the operator reservation number. Agency buyers must follow their own exchange instructions. After collection, keep the physical ticket safe and observe the actual boarding time.

Understand all three course legs

The published route is 6km of one-way rail biking, then a 2.5km Romance Train and a free shuttle to the departure point. It is neither a round-trip pedal ride nor a shuttle back to Seoul. Keep the different legs separate when deciding what your party can manage.

Choose your Seoul-bound train after allowing for the return to the start and the walk back to the station. This review did not establish your day’s train fare, timetable or a guaranteed total course duration, so it does not give a tight transfer example. If the bike is your main purpose, a meal and rest around it can be more workable than adding Nami and Alpaca World simply to fill the day.

Check children and weather separately

The Korean FAQ restricts children under 36 months in principle, then describes an exceptional accompaniment procedure with age evidence and an on-site safety pledge. The general English prohibition differs. Do not reduce this to “babies ride free.” Confirm actual conditions before visiting; signing a pledge is not evidence of suitability or a safety guarantee.

Rain or snow does not automatically cancel operation. The operator may suspend for safety, with separate direct-booking refund guidance; choosing to cancel because you dislike rain is subject to ordinary rules. Observe guardianship, capacity, seatbelts and staff instructions. For mobility or pedalling needs, ask about support on the bike, train and shuttle separately and keep another activity as a fallback.

Do not transplant refund rules between sellers

The table records the Korean FAQ for direct bookings. A same-day refund requires cancellation at least one hour before departure, not the reverse interpretation of the English rate page. That page also lists a booking-day cancellation exception until 23:59. If this overlaps an imminent departure, confirm its application with the operator before paying.

A change is cancellation plus rebooking, and new availability is separate. Agency or platform buyers must contact that seller and follow the selected option’s rules. Applying the operator’s same-day 50% refund to a Seoul tour, or the tour’s cancellation terms to direct bike admission, makes the comparison misleading.

Compare the tour option, not the headline

The related product below is a multi-stop Seoul tour, not standalone bike admission. GetYourGuide 428405 describes a shared four-seater when the rail-bike option is selected; another option visits a garden instead. Group and private-car pickup/return arrangements differ, and food is extra. Ask whether the named Gangchon ride actually starts at Gimyujeong and whether your party shares a bike.

KKday 1922 combines several itineraries. Its summary, FAQ and purchase notices differ on infant age, cancellation, no-shows and group-confirmation notices. Obtain the selected package’s terms in writing rather than treating one statement as settled. For both sellers, read date, party size, language, meeting, return and redemption. An older Gollaba checked price does not guarantee a bookable total for your date.

Finish the booking with a return plan

This guide uses operator and both seller bodies read on 10 October 2026. Actual availability, rail connections and rider suitability still need date-specific confirmation. The timetable includes seasonal extras and holiday adjustments: do not assume one universal last departure.

If the bike is your priority, settle course, seats, collection and return before adding stops. If another attraction is the priority, decide whether the tour includes the bike option and whether its schedule is worthwhile. Completing the checklist turns a cheap-looking price into a plan your group can actually use and return from.

  • Confirm Gimyujeong boarding and the actual course.
  • Separate per-person and per-bike charges.
  • For five or more, ask about allocation and mixed departures.
  • Complete payment and prepare booking/exchange proof.
  • For direct booking, plan arrival 20 minutes early.
  • Confirm children, mobility support and weather conditions.
  • Save selected-option cancellation and no-show terms.
  • Plan Seoul travel after the shuttle and extra costs.
