Decide what the day is for
Scenery from a boat, time at a beach facility, snorkelling and scuba diving require different arrangements. A title mentioning snorkelling does not tell you how much of the day is actually spent in the water. For children or companions who will remain dry, ask where they wait and what shade and toilets are available. Comparing a theme-park ticket with a boat tour on price alone hides differences in usable activity time and transport coverage.
Separate passing, anchoring and landing
Ask what happens at each named stop instead of collecting island names. Seeing an island offshore is not entry to its paid facilities. An older tourism description of Hon Mun does not establish current permission to dive at a particular site. Confirm the permitted stops and activities for your date with the operator, including the replacement route if access changes. Also separate the hotel collection time from the boat departure time when comparing the day’s length.

Match the activity to the people
Describe swimming ability and experience honestly. For diving, obtain the operator’s participation, instruction and health-screening requirements before paying. Boarding steps, toilets and equipment sizes differ between boats, so get a clear answer about any assistance your party needs. Do not touch or collect coral or marine life, and respect restricted areas. Clear water in a listing photograph is not a promise of visibility or sea conditions on your departure date.
Finish with the exclusions and fallback
Check whether the total includes the port transfer, facility admission, drinks and optional activities. Read operator cancellation separately from your own decision not to attend. Save the notification method and refund or date-change procedure, and avoid a flight immediately after the scheduled return. If marine activities stop, do not simply search for another boat willing to leave. Keep room for a rest day or a land visit whose opening and access have actually been confirmed.
