For architecture and lanes in the heritage area, a base that reduces repeated late journeys is useful. For a beach holiday, you can treat the Ancient Town as one or two separate outings. Check the door a vehicle can reach
For accommodation down a lane, the stopping point matters more than the map pin. Ask how far you must carry or wheel large bags. Complimentary bicycles do not mean cycling is suitable transport for every companion, especially for the return after dark. Plan another way back if needed. At An Bang, check what lies between your room and the beach entrance rather than interpreting a beach photograph as direct access.
Separate atmosphere from room function
A traditional-looking exterior does not promise soundproofing, a lift or the bathroom layout you need. Check beds, stairs, window direction and required facilities against the actual room category. “Hoi An” in a property name does not mean it is inside the Ancient Town. Consider whether the place still works when rain changes your plans or beach conditions are unsuitable, including somewhere to rest and realistic meal options.
Decide using the whole stay
Add room charges, taxes, required meals and return journeys, with the Da Nang airport transfers listed separately. Treat the time moving luggage and waiting for check-in as part of the cost of splitting hotels. On a short trip, resting at the preferred base and visiting the other area may work better than sleeping in both. If a shuttle determines your choice, verify its timetable and reservation requirement for your actual stay dates.
